Alumni General Meeting held
A General Meeting of Alumni of Don Bosco College, Tura was held on 4th December 2018 at 4pm. The meeting began with a prayer led the Principal, Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim,. In his welcome speech, Fr. Mukhim thanked the College Alumni Committee for having taken the initiative to hold the Alumni Get-Together on 12th November 2018. He expressed his happiness that the Don Bosco College Tura Alumni Association has been successfully formed and Office Bearers elected. He urged the alumni to maintain the momentum. Highlighting on the objective of forming the Alumni Association, Fr. Bivan Mukhim stressed that the alumni have received a lot from the college, and that it would be fair to give back to society and the giving exercise in various forms must be a continuous exercise. He also spoke about the various probable activities that the Alumni Association could take up and cited the examples of St. Anthony’s College, Shillong and Don Bosco Schoolt, Tura. The Rev. Fr then informed about the proposed venture of the Alumni Association vis-a-vis Matchikol village.
Prof. Susan M. Sangma, the Co-ordinator of the Alumni Committee took over from where the Principal left of and reiterated about the programme to be held in Matchikolgre village. She informed that it would be an Awareness Programme on Substance Abuse and Alchoholism. She also added that the programme would also include a small Pre-Christmas celebration. Prof. Sangma then read out the names of the Office Bearers and handed over the mike to the newly elected President of the Don Bosco College, Tura Alumni Association.
Prof. Firdosh Momin, the President read out the minutes of the last meeting. The house then discussed about the programme in Matchikolgre to be held on 9th December 2018. The meeting concluded with a thanksgiving prayer.
